Run-Off Election Results 12-6-11

We won ! Congratulations to Mayor-elect Mike Davis and Councilor-elect Terry Nall. Go to the City of Dunwoody website for the count. It will show total vote counts as follows: Mayor Mike Davis–3432; Bob Dallas–2267. Council Post 4 Terry Nall–3699 Robert Wittenstein-1980.

We in the Dunwoody GA Tea Party endorsed Mike Davis and Terry Nall and we are confident they will be positive contributors to the Council. They were with us in our opposition to the $128 million debt the Park Bonds would have imposed, but most of the credit for dodging that bullet goes to you, the voters of Dunwoody. Your common sense and math skills prevailed.

City Council Dynamics

We believe the addition of Mike and Terry will give the council some balance. The last council got caught up in taking federal grants that required them to do dumb things. The last Council Reps were also too close to the non-profit organizations squatting on city park land. In the last Council, group-think ruled and common sense and applied math skills failed. We are confident that Mike and Terry know what Dunwoody voters expect and will add critical analysis to pending issues.

The first thing the new Council will need to do is determine why road improvements that are tied to federal grant money cost 4 times what they would cost if the city paid the entire cost. We will oppose the $6.14 billion TSPLOST vote in July 2012 for making the Park Bonds look like a good deal.

My thanks goes to all the Dunwoody Tea Partiers who worked hard on the Vote No Park Bonds and our candidates’ campaigns.

Norb Leahy, Dunwoody Tea Party Leader

  1. What I would like to know is...is there any way we can stop that road entry "improvement" project at Dunwoody Village which intends to make a 4 lane entrance into a 2 lane entrance. In 2011, we ar the only city that would even consider taking a 4 lane in a busy area and turning it into a 2 lane! What was the Council thinking?
