'Martyrs' who butchered 5 in synagogue to be honored Sheik cites Islamic law in demand for return of terrorists' bodies

Palestinian Authority officials are demanding that Israel return to them the bodies of two terrorists who attacked and killed five people at a Jerusalem synagogue so that they can be properly honored under Shariah, Islamic religious law, according to Palestinian Media Watch.

Palestinian Authority Mufti Sheik Muhammad Hussein is demanding that Israel transfer the bodies of the “Shahids,” or “martyrs,” because it is “the martyrs’ right for us to pray for them, and this is a right according to Shariah.”

The mufti said their “relatives, friends and loved ones also have the right to see them one last time.”

WND reported this week that the mother of one of the two terrorists publicly praised her son’s actions.

According to PMW, which posted the video online, the mother of Uday Abu Jamal praised her son for honoring her with his violent act and death: “You have placed a crown [on my head] and a star upon my shoulders.”
Abu Jamal and his cousin, Ghassan, entered a Jerusalem synagogue Nov. 18. They attacked worshipers there with guns, knives and axes, killing four and a police officer who responded, authorities said.

The terrorists were killed in a firefight that followed with Israeli police.

Now, PMW says, the biweekly Palestinian authority newspaper the Capital City reported: “At a press conference at the mourners’ tent in Jabal Mukkaber on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, [PA] Mufti of Jerusalem Sheikh Muhammad Hussein called on the occupation authorities to return the bodies of the martyrs (Shahids) to their relatives and the members of their village quickly, so that they may hold the funeral rites required by Muslim Shariah.”

A lawyer for the killers’ families, PMW reported, also blamed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the deaths of the “martyrs” and said “an indictment must be submitted” against him.

According to the report, attorney Raed Bashir said: “Given that the occupation forces are responsible for the deaths of eight people in the operation (i.e., the Jerusalem synagogue terror attack) – six settlers and the martyrs Ghassan and Uday Abu Jamal – an indictment must be submitted against prime minister of the occupation Netanyahu, as he is responsible for the events in Jerusalem.”

PMW reported another article in the biweekly paper, which is distributed with the official PA daily, said the two terrorists carried out a “shooting and stabbing operation against extremist Jews.”

It identified the city as “Western occupied Jerusalem.”

“Yet a third article showed a poster of the two ‘martyrs’ with the Al-Aqsa compound in the background and a photo of one of the victims from the synagogue attack. Text on the poster read: ‘At your command, Al-Aqsa.’ The article described in detail how the terrorists carried out the attack,” PMW said.

One of the reports carried this description: “The men who carried out the Jewish synagogue operation: martyr (Shahid) Ghassan Abu Jamal, 27, married and father of 3, and martyr Uday Abu Jamal, 22. They were cousins from the village of Jabal Mukkaber, in southeast occupied Jerusalem. The two martyrs belong to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and were released prisoners.”
