Georgia Education Waste

Fiscal Malfeasance by Denise Caldon Sorkness, 8/27/15,
As a follow-up to my recent post about the fiscal malfeasance within our state's higher education system, former USG President David A. Bell, who retired due to circumstances confirmed in Depositions but sealed from public view by Attorney General Sam Olens, received a salary from 2010 – 2014 of $1,599,375.92! *Three of those five years Bell was a part-time Professor and received $761.706.97! This fact and much more should be addressed in our 2016 Legislative Session. This is OUR tax dollars allocated for "education" with the Georgia Constitution allowing the Board of Regents "exclusive authority" to do what they want. They do! See: http://www.open.ga.gov/
Open Georgia is a gateway for obtaining information and key documents about how the State of Georgia spends tax dollars and other revenues to provide services to Georgians. The information maintained on this site comes from various state agencies and is updated annually.

The high cost of public education needs to be addressed to restore it to an effective and affordable option for students. The sealing of court records to protect political insiders coupled with excessive retirement subsidies makes this look like “hush money” payoffs.
