The GOP
Presidential Delegate Count as of 3/23/16 for the two viable candidates is Trump
739 and Cruz 465.
The total
count for the other candidates is Kasich 143, Rubio 166, Carson 8, Bush 4, Fiorina
1. Huckabee 1 and Paul 1. The total
delegate count for these candidates is 324.
If the delegates
are released, and all 324 went to Cruz, Cruz would have 789, but it’s more
likely that these delegates would split between Cruz and Trump.
The total
delegate count voted so far is 1528. Republican Delegates needed to win the
nomination is 1,237.
In this
last round on 3/23/16, Arizona went to Trump with 58 delegates and Utah went to
Cruz with 40 delegates.
There are
many more states to go through June and it is thought that Trump would win most
of these States.
