Forced Public Transit

Third world countries rely on trains for public transportation, but these trains and tracks are over 100 years old. Commuter trains are too expensive to build these days, costing billions, so utilization must be 100%. This works in Tokyo, New York, Washington DC and Madrid but it isn’t cost effective in most other places, because of job concentration and the need to go where the trains and buses don’t go and it’s faster by car.

In the US, we are accustomed to the convenience, privacy and safety of our automobiles. Government needs to stop trying to get us to stop using our cars. They tried diverting tax money to everything else and let our highways, roads and bridges rot. We were not amused.
