GOP Suicide
Possible - If the GOP National delegates we are in the process of electing don’t
vote in total compliance with the voters’ primary votes, we are in for real
trouble. We need every bound Trump voter
ready to vote for Trump on the second ballot of the National Convention. If they overwhelmingly switch to Cruz, we
will have proof that the GOP threw their own voters under the bus.
I attended
the District 6 Convention and heard Tom Price, Johnny Isakson and others on
4/15. They didn’t recognize their
failure to do a better job and neither did any other speakers. It was another “didn’t we do a great job”
Convention. This District includes DeKalb, Fulton and Cobb. There were many more “Cruz” badges at this
Convention than “Trump” badges.
I am a
delegate to the GA GOP Conventions from the DeKalb GOP. It doesn’t look good. Although the DeKalb GOP delegates recognize
the value in the Donald Trump candidacy, the “Establishment GA GOP” outnumbered us at the District Convention and will
probably do the same at the State Convention.
We had to
elect 3 delegates and 3 alternates at this District Convention and the District
GOP had already pre-approved a slate. But
this time they agreed to take nominations from the floor. Up to this point, District Conventions have
been a sham. The make-up of the GA GOP is still largely RINO “Country Club
Republicans”. It looks like the State
Convention will be the same. The 2015 State Convention was a sham.
The “GA GOP establishment”
holds that if Trump arrives at the National Convention with 1237 on the first
vote, they will support him. But if
there is a 2nd ballot, all bets are off and Trump might get to exercise
his negotiating skills to get a shot at a second ballot win, but not
necessarily. To honor the will of the
Georgia voters, our delegates need to pledge to stay with Trump on the second
ballot when the Rubio, Kasich and other delegates are released. We want to see where they go. If they all go to Cruz and Cruz ends up with
more delegates than Trump, then Cruz should win. If they go to Trump, then Trump should
win.
I want Trump
to win, because I don’t like how our current GOP officials vote or
operate. I blame them for letting Obama
and the Democrats ruin the country.

In the delegate selection fight
Donald Trump is getting “trounced” according to Politico. Even though the state
of Indiana has not even voted yet, Donald Trump has already been “shut out” in
the delegate fight. If Trump does win the state of Indiana the delegates he
wins will be required by law to vote for him on the initial ballot but they can
change their minds on subsequent ballots. Things don’t look good for Trump on
any subsequent ballots, in fact they look terrible.
Look at what this Indiana delegate
had to say about voting for Donald Trump.

“If Satan had the lead on him and was one delegate away from being nominated as
our candidate, and Donald Trump was the alternative, I might vote for Donald
Trump,” said Craig Dunn, a local GOP leader who is running to represent
Indiana’s 4th Congressional District at the national convention in Cleveland.
“I’ve always wanted to own a casino, but he couldn’t give me a casino and have
me vote for him.”
So maybe, just maybe, Trump could win this
guy’s vote over the prince of darkness on a second ballot at the convention.
But it’s not just this guy, Trump has failed in several states to get his
people appointed as delegates, even in states where he was the winner he has
often walked away with a fraction of the loyal delegates Ted Cruz has. Donald
Trump is not putting the necessary resources into the delegate fight according
to Politico.
Though he’s won more votes and state
primaries than rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich, Trump has failed spectacularly
to win separate delegate selection battles to his better-organized rivals.
Though in most cases, he’s lost because of Cruz’s superior organization,
Indiana appears to be a break from the norm. Most of the hostility to Trump
there is homegrown.
“I believe we need a candidate that
is likable, and I believe we need a candidate that is electable. And at this
point, I have not seen any evidence for a general election that Donald Trump is
electable,” said Kyle Babcock, a veteran Indiana GOP insider who’s on the 3rd
Congressional District delegate slate.
Donald Trump can’t control the
opinions of state party officials but he can properly organize and fund his
delegate selection team and he is currently doing a terrible job of doing that.
It could be that Trump has already completely given up on winning after the
first ballot or perhaps it’s just plain old incompetence. Funding a delegate
selection team also takes money and Mr. Trump has not put anywhere near the
amount of money he said he would into his campaign.
Whatever the reason, the Trump
campaign is going to be in big yuge trouble if they fail to win the nomination
outright on the first vote.
