As a candidate for your State House district, Fran Millar
refused to answer his Georgia Taxpayers United candidate surveys.
Don’t you think that candidates for office should give
voters like you straight answers on important issues like Obamacare, the income
tax, property taxes, the gas tax hike, and the largest tax hike in Georgia
history, T-SPLOST?
One candidate, Paul Maner, completed his survey 100%
correctly and returned it.
Why didn’t Fran Millar do the same?
Maybe Fran Millar is embarrassed by his voting record!
You see, Georgia Taxpayers United sent all candidates for
State House the candidate survey back in April. The survey was due on May 2nd.
We asked candidates to give us straight “yes” or “no”
answers on issues that are important to supporters like you such as:
*** Stopping (nullifying) Obamacare in Georgia,
*** Repealing the hospital bed tax,
*** Repealing the state income tax,
*** Repealing property taxes,
*** Repealing taxes on cars and the recent gas tax hike,
*** Repealing the largest tax-hike in Georgia history
(T-SPLOST), and
*** Repealing Georgia’s Internet tax scheme.
By getting candidates for office to put their positions in
writing, we can better hold them accountable should they win elective office.
But Fran Millar apparently doesn’t want his true intentions
revealed in writing.
Maybe that is because Fran Millar voted for these tax hikes
and regulations in the first place!
Fran Millar has been betraying taxpayers for years.
Fran Millar voted for Obamacare expansion1.
Lawmakers tucked away an Obamacare sneak attack in the state
budget2 for fiscal year 2016.
This so-called “Section 1115” waiver allows the Governor to
expand Obamacare through the Medicaid program.
Not only that, but Fran Millar broke his oath to uphold the
Georgia Constitution3 with this vote!
Fran Millar voted for the hospital bed tax.
In 2013, Fran Millar had the opportunity help kill the
so-called Hospital Bed Tax4 that was about to expire.
But instead, Fran Millar voted5 to ram this tax down the
throats of sick Georgians.
Not only did Fran Millar vote to keep the hospital bed tax,
but his vote also violated the Georgia Constitution!
You see, the Georgia Constitution requires6 that all revenue
(tax) bill originate in the House of Representatives, not the State Senate.
Fran Millar voted for the car tag tax hike.
Have you noticed in recent years how expensive it is to own
and operate a car in Georgia?
Not surprisingly, Fran Millar helped raise taxes on cars
too!
In 2012, Fran Millar voted7 for a car title tax8 that raised
taxes on used cars and gave an advantage to new car dealerships over private
citizens.
Worse, the bill didn’t even repeal the so-called birthday
car tax, meaning Georgians must now suffer under two different car tax schemes.
These two car tax schemes combined raise taxes by hundreds
of millions of dollars per year.
Fran Millar voted to raise taxes on the Internet.
Norb, you may find it hard to believe, but that same bill
even raised taxes on the Internet9!
Not satisfied with that tax hike, Fran Millar voted10 to
raise taxes on gasoline11 just last year.
This horrible tax hike scheme even created an automatic,
yearly tax hike!
Now Georgia taxpayers just like you have to pay more taxes
at the pump every time they fill up just to go to work, take his kids to
school, or go to church.
Is this the kind of ‘fiscal conservatism’ that you would
have expected from Fran Millar?
Fran Millar voted for the ‘T-SPLOST’ tax hike.
And let’s not forget the largest tax hike in Georgia
history, the ‘T-SPLOST’ tax hike12.
Fran Millar voted13 to pit neighbor against neighbor and
county against county with this tax hike scheme.
Not only does ‘T-SPLOST’ raise taxes on Georgians, but it
utilizes Soviet-style ‘regional commissions’ for central planning to spend the
tax dollars.
Norb, Fran Millar has something to hide by not filling out
his Georgia Taxpayers United candidate survey, and now you know what that is --
his record.
Let Fran Millar know how you feel.
Please contact Fran Millar let him know how you feel about
his refusal to complete his surveys.
Even more importantly, let Fran Millar know how you feel
about his voting record of raising your taxes and decreasing your liberty.
