Protest Control

Protesters should need permits and should be limited to daylight hours and be restricted to a designated place in a City Park.  Parks often have good spots for speeches and there is usually parking.  The Protesting group should pay a fee.

Protests should never be permitted after dark or involve marching down any street at any time.  Protests should not be allowed in business or residential areas.

Police response to approved protests should allow Police to grab their riot gear if they need it and should involve a heavy police presence with a paddy wagon in view.  Police should circle the protesting crowd.

Protesters with approved permits would have to provide their own loudspeaker system, but Police would be in charge of the volume.

The media can attend to cover the protest with their cameras and microphones.

Opposition protesters will not be granted entry to any approved protest.

Whoever breaks the rules gets arrested and fined.  Those who harm property or others will be charged and jailed.

There. Was that hard?

Protesters should consider putting polls on their websites to gage their support.   More people will answer polls than will show up at protests, rallies or meetings. There are no fees, no need to tie up police, no arrests, no fines, no jail.
