Campaign Finance Reform

Trump proved over and over again that you could win an election without spending $Billions on TV ads.  Jeb Bush spend $Billions in the primary and ended up with 2% of the vote.  Hillary Clinton spent $Billions on her campaign ads and had the benefit of decades of voter propaganda implantation and still lost the election.

It is feasible for all candidates to compete and win and not spend a fortune provided by special interest groups.  Elected officials should work for the people who elected them and not the special interests.  I would require that all campaign contributions only come from the voters for all candidates who would appear on their ballot.  This would close K Street and the media and campaign staffs would take a hit, but it must be done.

Congress will not have to spend any of their time chasing campaign contributions.  They will have time to read the bills and write the bills and the regulations before they vote on the bills.  There should be no “Omnibus Bills” or “Continuing Resolutions”.  Each bill should deal with separate issues and no unrelated amendments should be allowed.

Candidates would need a website with a full resume and their positions on all major issues and some traveling money. Judges should publish their decisions and Incumbents would publish their votes and scores.

Special interests can exercise their free speech on their own websites and with their own ads.

All dead people should be removed from the voting rosters each year. There are currently 4 million dead people on these rolls.  All states should require a picture ID or drivers’ license from all voters who show up to vote.
