Muslim Brotherhood Ban

BREAKING: Trump Moves on First Muslim Ban… Liberals Watch in Horror

President-elect Donald Trump may not be in office yet, but he has announced he’s all for a “Muslim ban.” It’s not the type you think, though. According to WND, he plans to “jump-start” legislation that would classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.

The legislation, introduced in 2015 by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, has been held up by the Obama administration’s steadfast refusal to recognize the Egyptian organization — and a connected American offshoot, the Council on American-Islamic Relations — as a terrorist group.

However, Trump has indicated he is willing to sign the legislation, which would reclassify the Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR and the Islamic Society of North America as terroristic. A Trump adviser told Egyptian television the president-elect would make it a priority.

Founded in 1928 as a nationalist group, the Muslim Brotherhood was re-purposed in the 1970s as a tool to spread Islamic thought and values. Its motto is “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Quran is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope. (Allah is greater!)”

The Brotherhood is banned in a number of countries, including five Arab states. Syria, Saudi Arabia and the Muslim Brotherhood’s home base of Egypt all ban the group.

While it claims not to be a terrorist organization, a document found during a 2004 FBI raid of a Brotherhood safe house reads that they believe “work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.

Without this level of understanding, we are not up to this challenge and have not prepared ourselves for jihad yet. It is a Muslim’s destiny to perform jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes, and there is no escape from that destiny except for those who chose to slack.”

The group and American offshoot CAIR were also listed in the largest terrorism funding case ever prosecuted in the United States.

The measure will likely meet strong opposition from Democrats, especially since a possible candidate for a Democrat leadership position — Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison — has been an enthusiastic supporter of both CAIR and ISNA.
