Misplaced Tolerance

The 1971 movie, “a clockwork orange” is a criticism of the trend in society that failed to place responsibility for crime on the criminal.  It is an early call warning us to use tolerance sparingly and assign personal responsibility aggressively.

Excusing or dismissing crime became the norm. Criminal behavior doesn’t need to be understood; it needs to be stopped.

Terrorist behavior is criminal and requires a hammer.  That hammer would be Trump. The Muslim ban is a “reasonable” reaction to terrorism.  Banning Sharia law in the US would be a more effective solution. That ban would be based on the fact that large parts of Sharia law support killing infidels and overthrowing non-Sharia governments.  Allowing Sharia to operate in the US and in US courts is treason.

If we want Muslims to assimilate, they will need to accept US law without exception. Sharia law would need to be cleaned up to exclude actions that are crimes under US law. All other Muslim practices that do not violate US law would be allowed as long as they were freely chosen.

The US has problems with anti-discrimination laws that allow protected groups and other aspirants to sue businesses who don’t want to do business with them. In the US, freedom of association should trump these laws and these law suits should not be allowed.  Our current legal landscape allows for predatory behavior, violates liberty and needs to be reformed.
