Georgia Spends $44 Billion

The 2018 Georgia Budget is about $24 billion from State taxes

 

Georgia plans to spend 53.6% of state tax revenues on education and another 21.2% on healthcare. That is 74.8% of all State taxes.  8% goes to transportation.

 

In addition, Georgia receives federal grants to states which have ranged around $20 billion for healthcare, education and every other purpose you can imagine.

 

Georgia’s 2017 fiscal year is July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 and the total budget available to the state is $43.7 billion. That includes $23.7 billion in state funding, $13.7 billion in federal funding and $6.3 billion in other funds.
