Bad US Law

There are laws that have made healthcare and education costs unsustainable and anti-discrimination laws and regulations that caused the 2008 Meltdown.

The Emergency Medical and Treatment Labor Act (EMTLA) passed by Congress in 1986 explicitly forbids the denial of care to indigent or uninsured patients based on a lack of ability to pay.

Plyler v. Doe, a 1982 Supreme Court case that affirmed all children are guaranteed equal access to a basic public education regardless of their immigration status.

The Community Reinvestment Act 1993 forced lenders to give mortgages to unqualified buyers based on minority population data by zip code. HUD anti-discrimination rules also required the same. This caused the 2008 financial meltdown. Bad mortgages were converted into securities and the mortgages failed making the securities worthless.
