Returning Federal Lands to States

Western States are sure to follow in regaining land seized by the federal government under the Antiquities Act. This began with the scale-back of federal land surrounding monuments in Utah.  We will also finally be able to drill in Anwar Alaska, passed with the Tax Cut Bill. These moves indicate that we are going to use federal land, not in use, to increase our production of natural resources.

State Extraction Taxes vary widely, but should be reviewed in anticipation of gaining revenue for States to fund infrastructure.

Oil & Gas Taxes are sure to kick in with the extraction of oil and gas in States that have large oil fields. These taxes vary

It makes no sense to continue to let our resources remain unused and unmanaged.  We need to produce 10 million more barrels of oil per year to become oil independent and we need to produce more liquid natural gas to export.

We also need to revisit the Endangered Species Act and clean it up to resume reclamation of forests and productive land. There is no reason for tax dollars to go to wildlife preserves when these should be funded by private dollars.
