Eliminating this fraud and waste is possible, but it requires citizens to become “whistle-blowers” when they uncover this corruption.  Medicare and Medicaid benefit recipients are responsible for monitoring their own medical bills and payment notices to insure that these are valid charges. Consumers must verify these charges by calling the billing companies and confirming that the bill is valid, just like they should do with all questionable credit card charges. Medical services are often billed by Billing Companies and these charges need to be checked and confirmed.
