Healthcare Cost Drivers

Malpractice insurance is high and is the first scam that needs to be exposed and disposed of. Healthcare providers don’t spend most of their time developing more effective treatments for diseases and disabilities, because they are forced to concentrate on “what is safe” according to their lawyers. This always raises costs beyond what is reasonable.

Medicine has always been a “trial and error” activity. Assuming that some bureaucratic organization can effectively screen and approve new protocols, drugs and treatments is folly.

County Medical Associations have functioned for a long time to review patient complaints and their medical records to determine if one of their licensed members needs to have their licenses suspended and needs additional training or needs to have their licenses revoked. This should be enough to keep health providers functioning within satisfactory limits.

The variability in the cost of treatment and the skill of the provider needs to be transparent. Patients should know the cost and the procedure, before they agree to treatment. If patients or their families can tap in to the medical underground, they can find out who the best doctors and providers are to reduce recovery time and save cost.

Patient care, like every other industry has had its ups and downs. In 1945, the introduction of anti-biotics was a game changer to prevent post-op infections and treat infectious, inflammatory contagious diseases. But using radiation and chemotherapy for cancer patients often didn’t work and thousands of patients died from the treatment, because it also destroyed their immune system.

We may be on the cusp of another up moment if gene splicing works to cure the diseases that are now in clinical trials.

Patients need to take control of their own preventive health and first ensure that the levels of the chemicals required to maintain good health in all systems are in the good range.

The first step for weight control is to make sure you are getting all the vitamin supplements you need, otherwise, you will overeat to get these minerals. Diabetes II is completely preventable if you do this. All patients are different, but I lost 34 pounds by taking a 400 mg Magnesium tablet every day. I just don’t feel hungry.

Patients need to be wary of the drugs the see advertised the most. When they list the “possible side effects”, you should know that you are skull-diving at your own risk and will need to have your bloodwork monitored.
