I think North Korea’s
nuclear program was designed to extort foreign aid from the US and now that no
longer works, so they should be able to fold the tent and end the circus.
The Mouse that Roared
was a 1959 Peter Sellers comedy movie depicting a tiny, bankrupt European
country declaring war on the US, so they could lose and get foreign aid.
Adam Sandler did his
“I’m crazy, give me candy” routine on Saturday Night Live
North Korea has been
using this as “I’m crazy, give me money”.
North Korea is not really
afraid of being attacked by the US. This is a ruse. They really don’t need
their own nuclear weapons program to protect themselves, because they would be
protected by China. The US relationship with Israel is the same.
North Korea can easily
drop the nuclear missile program and use the money to protect the government
from their abused citizens. If North Korea comes out of this with a formal
mutual defense pack with China, Kim Jong un will be a hero.
