Electrician Pay


In 2018, electrician pay ranged from $35,000 to $80,000.

As of 2011, electricians earned an average of $52,910 per year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The average hourly pay for an electrician was estimated to be $25.44.

In 2016, the median wage for an electrician was $52,720. The highest-paid earned $90,420, while the lowest-paid electricians earned around $31,800 that year. An apprentice usually makes between 30 percent and 50 percent less than someone who is fully trained.

A Master Electrician earns an average wage of $26.90 per hour. Pay for this job does not change much by experience, with the most experienced earning only a bit more than the least.

Journeyman Lineman pay averages $47.65 per hour.
