US Tariffs on China


The US is imposing tariffs on Chinese goods. A 25% tariff on $34 billion of Chinese goods was imposed July 6, 2018. The US has also proposed a 25% tariff on an additional $16 billion of Chinese goods on July 20, 2018. In addition, the US is proposing a 10% tariff on an additional $200 billion of Chinese goods.

The products on the proposed list includes 205 pages of fish, crops, vegetables, nuts, fruit, grains, rice, flour, feed, fish oil,  sugar, fruit juice, bamboo, tobacco, cigarettes, graphite, minerals, ore, coal, petroleum products, natural gas, chemicals, alcohol, acids, ink, soaps, pharmaceuticals, film, resins, pesticides, rubber, tires, animal hides, leather products, wood, fiberboard,  wood products, cork, wood pulp, paper, silk, wool, woven fabrics, cotton, yarn, carpet, stone, marble, ceramics, glass, gold, silver, platinum, steel, iron, copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, tin, cobalt, titanium, metal products, air conditioners, refrigerators, machinery, electrical devices, vacuum cleaners, batteries, car parts, appliance parts, lamps, mattresses and furniture.

Not much here we can’t produce ourselves or get from other countries.
