Crime in the US

It appears that we have 2.2 million in jails and prisons and at least another 2 million criminals running loose.  This doesn’t include the 20 million illegals hiding out.

According to Justice Department estimates, MS-13 is a small gang, compared with the Bloods, Crips and Almighty Latin King Nation. The estimated 10,000 MS-13 gang members in the United States account for less than 1 percent of the estimated 1.4 million total gang members in the country.- Jan 31, 2018

There were 1.541,000 prison inmates, 615,000 in local jails and 48,000 in youth detention in March 2018. 626,000 criminals were released and return to jail

Crime Rate per 100,000 pop, Murders, Prison Population per 100,000 by State in 2016:  Listed by Crime Rate

Alaska          804     52       409
New Mexico  703     139     440
Nevada         678     224     577
Tennessee    633     486     549
Louisiana      566     554     1019
Arkansas      551     216     774
Alabama       532     407     790
Missouri        519     537     687
Delaware      509     56       561
S. Carolina    502     366     532
Arizona         470     380     781
Michigan       459     598     551
Oklahoma     450     245     948
California      445     1930   428

California’s crime rate put it in 14th place, but it was the murder capitol with 1930 murders. In Alaska, I wonder if their crime rate is due to “pot”.
