James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas released a video Tuesday of a member of the anti-Trump “deep state,” a career civil servant who says on camera he is there to work not for American taxpayers but the Democratic Socialists of America.
The government employee is identified as Stuart Karaffa, a State Department staffer and “a ranking member of the Metro DC Democratic Socialists of America.”
The first video shows Karaffa “engaged in radical socialist political activity on the taxpayer’s dime, while advocating for resistance to official government policies.”
You could put two and two together probably. With like web traffic. … So with web traffic, I mean I could make the case before a court of law that – I’m going to the Virginia sort of, campaign finance website – that I’m just interested in what people are doing politically. But if they also go and look at like DSA minutes and like officer positions, they’ll be like, ‘that’s weird, you were the co-chair of the electoral caucus, and you spent three hours on a Virginia campaign finance website.'”
His task? “Resist everything. … Every
level.” And he adds he’s there to “f— s— up.” The

Project Veritas explains it is just
the first installment of its undercover video investigation.
Karaffa told an undercover Project
Veritas journalist that he performs DSA activism while at work for the State
Department. He said he drafts DSA communications while on the job.
“I’m careful about it. I don’t leave a
paper trail, like I leave emails, and like any press s— that comes up. I leave
that until after 5:30. But as soon as 5:31 hits, got my, like, draft messages
ready to send out,” he says.
And he admits monitoring Virginia’s
political news online while being paid by taxpayers.
He claims it’s “impossible to fire”
federal employees, so he has little concern, and he also boasts that oversight
of his activities is virtually nonexistent. “Somebody just rubber stamps [the
form] and it goes forward.”

O’Keefe said: “We’ve heard a lot about the deep state; holdovers from the
previous administration resisting change or nameless and faceless bureaucrats
slowing things down or leaking secrets in an effort to undermine this
administration.
“What is truly striking is their
boldness, they are not afraid. They are even boastful about a warped reality,
where they won’t get caught and can’t get fired even if they did.”
