The History of Warnings

In 1789, the United States formed a Republic designed to support personal liberty, limited government and a private sector free market economy that encouraged private property ownership. They relied on the law of supply and demand to control prices. The Founders warned against socialism and corruption endorsed limited government powers.

Ludwig von Mises (1881-1973) founded the Austrian School of Economics describing uncorrupt modern capitalism as the best model for nations to follow. He immigrated to the US in 1945 taught at New York University. He warned against socialism and big government and promoted private sector free market supply and demand to control prices.

Lord of the Flies was published in 1954, a story about boys marooned on an island without adult supervision.  This became the model for the US Congress and our college students.
