Republicans Hold US Senate Gains

The US Senate will have 53 Republicans and 47 Democrats in January 2019.  The last run-off race in Mississippi re-elected Republican US Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith with 54% of the vote and Democrat challenger Espy 46% of the vote.

The Senate will have an easier time confirming appointments and will be able to stop crazy Bills from the Democrat House.

As of 11/28/18, pending certification of elections by the States, the Democrats will control the House in 2019.

It will be difficult for the House to function with the Senate to produce Bills Trump would sign. I expect the House to be useless and disruptive until 2020.

According to Politico, the US House will have 234 Democrats and 200 Republicans.

According to the New York Times, the House will have 233 Democrats, 3 Undecided and 199 Republicans.
