Becoming Venezuela

The US Constitution (as originally written) is a rigid document written to prevent corruption and decline. Congress followed it from 1789 to 1872. Then they began to ignore it. Our current problems require that we return to following the US Constitution.

In Defense of Liberty post by Kevin Wright - We do embrace democratic principles, which are embedded in our nation, but this is not to be confused with our form of governance. Too many do. Founders sought to contain the ill effects of both majority and minority rule

“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” Thomas Jefferson.

“Remember, democracy never lastgs long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit scuicide.” – Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Libertyis a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.” Benjamin Franklin.
We are a Republican government. Real liberty is never found in despotism or in the extremes of democracy.” Alexander Hamilton.

Venezuela is a good example of the failure of a democracy. Chavez was elected President in 1998 and the poor majority chose socialism to get “free stuff”. It took 20 years of socialism to destroy Venezuela. It could happen in the US if Democrats are elected.
