TEA Party History Update

The TEA Party movement began in 2009 with large gatherings of conservatives in big cities protesting excessive government spending, red tape, national debt and taxation. It gained notoriety in Washington DC. The name was chosen to morror the Boston Tea Party, but TEA stood for Taxed Enough Already.

Tea Party Groups grew from 2010 to 2012. Most counties in the US had a Tea Party Group and worked to oppose UN Agenda 21 implementation in the US. In 2012 Tea Party Groups joined with other conservative groups like the taxpayer unions, 912 groups and other Constitutionalist groups to oppose local Agenda 21 initiatives and succeeded in most parts of the US.  We attempted to elect Tea Party politicians that were attacked by Establishment Republicans. Tea Parties were also attacked by the IRS. I worked to defeat the Park Bonds in Dunwoody in 2011 and I worked to defeat the TSPLOST in 2012.

We quietly elected Trump in 2016 and we finally have a President who supports our positions on issues. The need for active Tea Parties has diminished. Tea Party groups still meet monthly in rural cities. I chose to publish this Blog in 2011, because Tea Parties were under attack and meeting venues were denied.

Many Tea Parties continue to function today, but not as many as there were in 2012. Tea Party Express still operates along with Tea Party Patriots. When I started the Dunwoody GA Tea Party in 2011, I signed it up with Teaparty.net, but they no longer publish their member groups. CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference has functioned since 1974.
