US National Debt by Year


In 1913 Congress passed the Federal Reserve Act to unconstitutionally move the US from a free market economy to a “managed economy”. Congress also passed the US Income Tax and Inheritance Tax laws. The US dollar has been devalued and the dollar is worth 13 cents.

The US National Debt has grown from $17 billion in 1929 to $22 trillion in 2019. The US National Debt history since 1929 is listed below.
