In 2017,
the US population by age data tells us that the US population has about 20
million citizens in each age group up to age 65.when it declined to 18 million
and declined again to 17 million in the 70 to 74 age group.
Social
Security Retirement eligibility age is 66 and is scheduled to increase to age
67 at some point.
This data
also tells us that we have about 60 million in the age 5 to age 19 groups in
elementary and high school and perhaps 15 million in trade school and college.
Each age
group is 5 years and we can estimate that there are 4 million in each
individual age group. Job creation needs to continue in the 2 to 3 million jobs
per year range. Many over age 65 will likely continue to work after age 66.
This data
also gives us some idea of how many US citizens are in the “US Labor Force”.
There are 11 age groups from age 15 to age 70 with about 20 million in each
group. The Labor Force should be about
220 million working age US citizens..
