Poor Candidate Vetting

Candidates for elective office are not vetted by voters and most candidates are illusive and perform what I call the “straight-jacket dance” designed to get through the town hall meetings without offending anyone with an honest answer.

Most candidates don’t have the correct experience to competently perform their duties. No other criteria makes any sense. Trump is the exception, not the rule. The responsibility of our Political Parties should be to vet candidates to confirm competence, but they don’t do that. Obama is a Muslim Communist, but he won the Presidential elections in 2008 and 2012.

A City County or State job requires experience with managing infrastructure construction and maintenance where most of our tax dollars should go. Most City Council Reps have no idea what this should cost and end up approving one rip-off after another.

A job in Congress requires experience in business that includes knowledge of multiple industries, multiple economies and multiple countries. Most members of Congress lack this expertise. Most are former prosecutors and are trained to attack political rivals. They should do this on their own time and not charge taxpayors to pay for their life in the “bubble”. They are responsible for passing and repealing laws and writing regulations, but they don’t do this. So, we have bad laws on the books that are never repealed. Congress and the Courts have ignored the US Constitution and have consequently made a mess that needs to be cleaned up.

The Deep State includes all levels of government and their cronies. We will need to restrict campaign contributions to “voters only” for candidates who appear on their ballots. Candidates will need a website with their full resume and positions on real issues. Federal grants to States need to be phased out and ended. States, Counties and Cities need to raise their own money for their own expenses and need to have limited enumerated powers and responsibilities.
