Accomplishment vs Education

People who accomplish things are similar in their individualized approach to what they do. This is true of the scientists who made important discoveries and the captains of industry who created the industrial revolution.  They were self-taught because they were attempting to do things that had not yet been accomplished. All were curious and capable and some were extremely smart, tough and determined.

Examining these innovators suggests that the best education is self-education.  The ability to satisfy our own curiosity is a great motivation to learn.

Sitting in a classroom for 12 or 16 years, listening to what educational bureaucrats want us to learn is killing curiosity and motivation and wasting our time.

Schools were formed to teach us to read, write and do math.  Most students who went to school before the 1940s learned how to read, write and do math in 8 years or less and went to work.

Today’s schools are producing drop-outs and graduates who can’t read, write or do math, but they have become cult members interested in social justice for “victims”. They can’t do their own taxes. They don’t understand instructions and can’t fix things. They don’t understand contracts and are easily cheated. They are being trained to be “victims”, snowflakes and Marxist political activists.
