Wars create Refugees

Refugees have come from Africa, Asia and the Middle East to settle in neighboring countries, Europe and the US since the 1960s and peaked in the 1990s.  https://time.com/4047905/refugee-ch

The Muslim Refuge Invasion of Europe began slowly in the 1980s, rose steadily and undetected until the 2000s, surged in the 2010s and peaked in 2015.

The UN refugee program was established in 1950 to deal with Korean War refugees and continued to deal with Vietnam War refugees.  Wars create refugees and the Middle East Wars caused wide-spread refugee problems.

Most wars begin as civil wars that spread to affect other countries due to ideology, poverty, regime change, proximity, culture and trade relations. Communist Revolutions based in ideology were a major source of wars after 1945.

Iran Revolution began in 1979

Iraq - Iran War began in 1980

Somali Civil War began in 1981

Sudan Civil War began in 1983

Iraq – Kuwait War began in 1990.

Yugoslav Wars 1992.

Afghan War began in 2001

Iraq War began in 2003

The Arab Spring began in 2010

Wars were common on American soil and continued from 1500. The British Colonies fought American Indian Tribes and the French for control of the East Coast from 1600 to 1765. American Revolutionaries declared Independence from Britain 1976 and won the Revolutionary War in 1781. George Washington was inaugurated in 1789.  The US completed the Louisiana Purchase in 1802, won the War of 1812 in 1814 and won the Mexican War in 1848. The expansion of the US to the Pacific Ocean has provided a buffer zone that enabled the US to avoid wars on US soil.

The US has been able to avoid wars on US soil for over 150 years, because it was easy to defend our borders. We are protected by the Atlantic Ocean in the East, the Pacific Ocean in the West and enjoy peaceful relations with Canada and Mexico.

It is time to secure our Mexican Border and ports of entry to repel drug cartels. It is also time to change our Immigration Laws to reflect our labor needs and return to basing immigration on merit and need.  We have too many low skilled.
