US Oil and Gas Production Update


US Oil Production declined from 8.874 million barrels per day in 1985 to 3.813 million barrels per day in 2005, Fracking allowed more oil production and it increased to 5.562 million barrels per day in 2010. Trump unleashed oil production in 2017 and US oil production is currently 12.600 million barrels per day. US oil consumption is currently 20,000 million barrels per day.  See below.

US natural gas production reached 92.8 billion cubic feet in October 2019.  The US is a net exporter of liquid natural gas LNG.

In its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, EIA forecasts U.S. LNG exports will average 4.8 Bcf/d in 2019 and 6.9 Bcf/d in 2020 as new liquefaction trains at Cameron, Freeport, and Elba Island are commissioned in the next 18 months. By 2021, six U.S. liquefaction projects are expected to be fully operational.- 7/29/19.
