US Household Income 2019

I am waiting for websites to release the US median household income for December 2019 and other economic data for 2019.

There are multiple ways to calculate Household Income. The “Mean” is the weighted average. The “Median” measures the 50th percentile. The “Mode” measures the most commonly occurring number. The data that is “Nominal” measures the actual numbers as they occurred.  If the data claims to be “Real”, it has modified the actual numbers to reflect inflation.

I prefer “Nominal” data and weighted average data to report GDP, Per Capita GDP and Household Income.

HUD published their own “household income” based on their own version of Family Income Fiscal Year 2019 (October 2018 to November 2019. Family refers to the Census definition of a family, which is a householder with one or more other persons living in the same household who are related to the householder by birth, marriage, or adoption. The definition of family excludes one-person households and multi-person households of unrelated individuals. The HUD version of median family income for the United States is $75,500 in FY 2019, an increase of five percent compared with the national median income for FY 2018.
