Global %Deaths/Cases continues to trend
flat to down. Countries with the highest %Death/Case like France, Belgium,
Italy, UK and Netherlands have large cities, interconnecting trains, open
borders, international tourism and government healthcare systems that make them
particularly vulnerable to pandemics. Over a dozen countries had no change in
cases and deaths.
The
1918-1919 Spanish Flu was a virus that reached 500 million cases requiring
treatment and 50 million deaths worldwide. 675,000 deaths were in the US. It
affected all age groups and lasted for 2 years.
The 2019-2020 Wuhan Covid19 virus is
approaching 16 million cases and 640,000 deaths worldwide. During the first 6
months of this virus, tests were given to patients with symptoms that required
treatment. Now most new cases are
asymptomatic carriers. False negative tests require repeat testing.
