Cities began to deteriorate due to lack of maintenance and replacement of roads, bridges, sewers and waterlines.
Cities took federal grants to build unnecessary 12 foot multi-purpose sidewalks that requires seizing land from home-owners and removing shade, privacy and oxygen creating trees. Federal grants are not offered for fixing potholes and preventing sink holes. Cities spend unnecessary money to buy land and build unnecessary parks. This land should be used to build homes and keep the land on the tax registry. Cities spend unnecessary money to hire consulting firms and engineering firms that add unnecessary cost to road maintenance. All of this began with US Agenda 21 implementation in 2009 with Regionalism laws giving State DOTs the right to take financial responsibilities away from elected city and county officials. They were told to use the “City Manager” form of government that resulted in corruption. City Managers chose “well-connected” contractors that charged twice the price. It now costs $335,000 per mile to repair and resurface roads. The buzzwords were Smart Growth, Green Space, Roundabouts. The big push was public transit. There were countless Bond Issues that failed to be approved by the voters.
State Legislatures need to repeal their Regionalism laws and allow Cities and Counties need to return to electing Mayors and County Commissioners to power to regain their financial authority.

States allowed lawlessness to take over cities and allowed riots, In 2020, Cities in Democrat States were allowed to host property destroying riots to spread across States led by Black Lives Matter and Antifa masquerading as peaceful protesters. We then allowed defunding the police, stopped prosecuting criminals, eliminated bail and set career criminals free to commit more crimes.

There is a pattern of “Bandwagon” Hoaxes that includes Democrat States, but also some less vigilant Republican States. The Sanctuary hoax was started by Marxists and filtered out to Socialist Cities and spread back up to include entire States and was based on “virtue signaling”. The Marijuana Hoax had it’s roots in increasing State Revenue and began under cover as “medical marijuana”.
