Nominal GDP $52.390B, Per capita GDP $1,163.03, Population 48,582,334, Debt to GDP 52.0%. Inflation 14.75% Unemployment 2.9%, Labor force participation 69.94%, Land area 93,065 sq miles, Arable land 80%, Urban 26.16%, Rural 73.84%. Exports $3.99B Imports $4.149B, Trade Deficit $159M.

Exports include Gold ($1.92B), Coffee ($753M), Fish: dried, salted, smoked or in brine ($69.5M), Raw Sugar ($61.7M), and Cocoa Beans ($60M) .

Imports include Pearls, Precious Stones, Metals (19%), Mineral Oils & Fuels (10%), Machinery, Nuclear Reactors, Boilers (6.9%), Vehicles (6.3%), Electrical, Electronic Equipment (4.5%), Plastics (4.2%), Raw Iron & Steel (4%), Pharma Products (2.1%).

High Levels of Corruption: Transparency International's (TI) 2022 Corruption Perceptions Index ranked Uganda 142 out of 180 countries, improving two places from the previous year. Land-related fraud and corruption are common especially as complex land laws lead to frequent land disputes.

Violent crime, such as armed robbery, home invasion, and sexual assault, presents a serious threat to those visiting and residing in Uganda and can occur at any time, especially in larger cities, including Kampala, Jinja and Entebbe, in the Karamoja region, and along Uganda's western and northern borders.
