Matt Gaetz withdrew from his nomination for Attorney General after meeting with Republican Senators on 11/21/24.
Matt Gaetz removed
himself from his appointment as the Attorney General pick when he realized that
4 Republican Senators would not vote to Confirm his nomination. These Senators
include Mitch McConnell (KY), Susan Collins (MA), Lisa Murkowski (AK), John
Curtis (UT).

“Republican Senators from Maine, Alaska and Utah have a history of voting against Bills the other Republican Senators favor. I think McConnell (KY) is just “stuck in his ways”. Gaetz had taken the “lead” on attacking the National Debt and his one vote removed
Gaetz resigned his Florida House Seat, but he won this seat in the 2024 election. I expect him to take this seat and continue to serve in the House.
