Auto Workers Income 1-24-25

In 2023, non-union auto workers income was higher at $28 per hour than union workers income at $23 per hour. In 2024, the UAW average wage moved from $23 per hour to a range from $17/hr to $33/hr that averages $25 per hour. The pay rates for non-union auto workers remains higher than union auto workers.

According to available data, the average income for a non-union auto worker in the United States is around $28 per hour based on Bureau of Labor Statistics figures, which is generally lower than the average pay for a unionized auto worker due to the disparity in collective bargaining power.

The average salary for a United Auto Workers (UAW) member in the United States was around $47,069 per year, or $23 per hour in 2023. However, salaries can vary depending on factors like seniority, employment status, and location.

The average hourly pay for United Auto Workers (UAW) employees in 2024 ranges from around $17 to $33 per hour, depending on seniority, position, and whether they are full-time or temporary. Some employees also earn additional money from overtime, bonuses, and profit sharing. The average is $25 per hour.

According to recent reports, non-union auto workers are primarily employed in Southern states like Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee where companies like Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Kia, and Volkswagen operate non-union plants; with a significant number of non-union auto workers also found in Texas at Tesla facilities.

Non-Union Plants increase their wages annually. Union Plants typically have 3-year contracts with higher increases the first year and lesser increases for the next two years.

Non-Union Plants are likely to remain in Right to Work States and will continue to pay higher than union rates. Automation improves productivity and quality. Unions need to stop objecting to automation.

Pay Rates are determined by supply and demand. Wage and Salary Surveys are used to determine average rates of pay for all jobs. Companies can plan their pay increases to attract and retain employees annually.
