Richard Woods for GA School Super

The Primary Election run-off is on July 22nd, 2014, just two weeks away.  The two Republican candidates for Georgia State School Superintendent are *Richard Woods* and Mike Buck.   We send this message in support of *Richard Woods* for State School Superintendent.

Of the two remaining candidates for State School Superintendent, only *Richard Woods* supports following the US and Georgia Constitutions in keeping control of education within Georgia and in the hands of Georgia voters.  Richard’s opponent, Mike Buck, supports the Common Core standards.

Simply put, Common Core is to education what Obamacare is to healthcare.  If you like what Obamacare has done to our healthcare system in the US, you will love what Common Core is doing to our education system.  For instance, the last state-wide math proficiency test for Georgia students held prior to the adoption of Common Core showed a failure rate of 35%.  After two years under Common Core, the latest math proficiency test scores released just last week showed a failure rate of 60%.  Common Core is not working!

Jane (an educator) and I have met and talked personally with *Richard Woods* at three events in the past month and we walked with Richard in the annual 4th of July parade in Marietta, GA.  In our opinion, *Richard Woods* is the candidate who can best be counted on to improve the education of Georgia’s children and Georgia’s standing in the nation on education.

We encourage you to vote early, or by absentee ballot, or to go to the polls on July 22nd, and to vote for *Richard Woods* as the new State School Superintendent.  For more information on *Richard Woods* please visit the following link:  http://www.woodsforsuper.com/index2.html.

You can obtain an absentee ballot by filling out and submitting an absentee ballot request at the following link: http://sos.ga.gov/admin/uploads/absentee_ballot_app_20143.pdf.  Note that *any* registered voter can request an absentee ballot.  You are requesting an absentee ballot for the Primary Election Runoff on July 22, 2014.

I stand with Richard Woods for Georgia State School Superintendent. He is the only candidate who opposes Common Core implementation in Georgia.
