Univision Poll

Univision sponsored a poll of 3000 Hispanic registered voters in 5 states.  Hispanic registered voting population in each state included: Texas 25% California 25%, New Mexico 18% Florida 18% Illinois 6%. This was a phone survey ranking the importance of the following issues.  Hispanics ranked Education, Jobs, Government Spending, Social Security and Health Care as concerns.  Education, Health Care cost too much, Government spends too much and Social Security may disappear.  These sound like Republican talking points, however, despite a 25% millennial population, Democrats are favored 70:30 in California. Detail for the other States was not included in the Survey Report.

California Hispanics dislike Obamacare and the lack of jobs.  Democrats are viewed as “too intrusive” and Republicans are viewed as the “big business” party. They dislike corporate welfare 60%

California Hispanics like Amnisty 70:30, but would require border closure first 60:40. They would like lower taxes and more stable full-time jobs. They like a higher minimum wage and lower education costs 80:20. They are 70% favorable to Democrats, but Obama gets a 40% favorable.

When asked if they would be better off with Democrats or Republicans in Congress, 42% said Democrats, 14% said Republicans and 44% said there is no difference.

This should make the RNC Elite question their approach to minorities.  This survey confirms high “common sense” reactions to government.  It is clear that the Republican message isn’t getting through to minority voters.  I go back to the days when Congressional Republicans were in the majority, yet they passed some real job killing, unconstitutional legislation.  The track record for Republicans so far indicates that there has been “no difference” between the parties.  I believe Rand Paul is the only candidate the RNC should support.
