Atlanta Congestion

My Suggestion for Congestion is Low Density. The solution for pollution is dilution. Embrace “Urban Sprawl”.

The suburbs around Atlanta Metro are fine the way they are and will continue to grow.  Homeowners tend to do most of their business by car and they do this close to their homes.  Schools, grocery stores and strip malls are usually close by, even in the Exurbs. With mortgage rates low and flat, it isn’t impossible to move if you want a shorter commune to work.

When your road and highway systems fail to function and traffic congestion becomes systemic, it’s time to let nature take its course and give in to “urban sprawl”.  In Georgia, we failed to build a real Atlanta Bypass.  Rumor had it that land owners in the rural counties that included I-75 and I-85 highways refused to sell their property to the DOT to build a real Atlanta Bypass.  If Georgia had succeeded, we would not have interstate car and truck traffic going through Atlanta Metro and we would be that much farther ahead in solving the congestion problem. 

Rural Georgia is also “anti-pipeline”.  That’s unfortunate.  Oil. Gas and Water pipelines should be able to be built easily in electrical distribution easement. 

High density development for Atlanta is simply suicidal.   Cobb zoning should not have approved the Braves Stadium relocation to the intersection of I-285 and I-75 - GA 41. 

Public Transit should be privatized.  There is no reason for taxpayers to support a Public Transit system anywhere in the State. Public Transit Agencies are really unnecessary, uber-expensive “union government jobs programs”.
