Church Decline

World War I devastated Europe and many Europeans began to stop attending church. After 1918, European governments were strapped with debt and began to abandon their colonial empire holdings. Like the Roman Empire, they didn’t have the cash to maintain control over their colonies. World War I ended any notion that the “divine right of kings” was ever a good idea.

 

World War II further destroyed church attendance to approach the single digits we see today. Again, after World War II, European countries got rid of their colonial holdings, because they couldn’t afford them.

 

Weekly church attendance in the UK is 10% and in France is 15%.  It is down to 2% in Russia and 22% in the US, down from 39% in 2013.  In Nigeria, 89% attend church weekly.

European churches now serve as museums visited by tourists.

 

Left-wing governments have crafted their own “moral code” and this replaces Judeo-Christian beliefs. Protestant Christian churches have gone astray when they adopt the “secular moral code”.  The purpose of this “code is to have government replace God. Political Correctness is the weapon of choice and global corporations have adopted this “moral code”. This “code” is predictably communist and one-world government oriented.

 

Churches will need to embrace private sector free market economics to recover from this disaster. It is the only economic system that is compatible with Judeo-Christian principles.  Christians and Jews who have developed a personal relationship with God have made the shift to worship on their own, without going to church.
