Healthcare & Education Costs
We have seen the costs of healthcare and education
quadruple over the past few decades. I attribute this to the destruction of the
free market, church-based healthcare and education we had in the 1960s. I attribute this disaster to a combination of
Vatican II and US federal government policies.
The Catholic Church held the second Vatican council in 1962
to “modernize” the Church. The very first Vatican Council was held in 325AD and
was controlled by Emperor Constantine. It finalized the Catholic Bible and
adopted Catholic articles of faith.
Vatican II had severe negative consequences including
“liberation theology”, the abandonment of great Church music and the exodus of
Priests and Nuns. Losing the Nuns was
devastating in the US. Nuns used to run
Catholic hospitals and parish schools across the US where costs were low and
tuition was free.
Healthcare and Education costs have quadrupled due to
excessive government subsidies at the State and federal level. These subsidies
need to be shifted back to counties and providers to give them the incentive to
lower their costs.
