533,429 GOP voters
(14.4%) turned out to keep Establishment Republicans in charge for another 4
years.
Governor candidate
Casey Cagle at 38.9% with 236,283 votes and Brian Kemp at 25.5% with 155,246
votes will be on the ballot in a July run-off.
Establishment
candidates Casey Cagle and Brian Kemp captured 391,529 or 73% of the Republican
vote.
Conservative
candidates Hunter Hill at 18.3% with 111.432 votes and Michael Williams at 4.9%
with 29,529 votes captured the conservative vote with a total of 140,961 or 26%
of the Republican vote.
199 million voters in
all 50 States and 6,148,229 registered voters in Georgia. Georgia voters tend
to vote Republican, so if it’s 60%, Republicans should have 3,688,937
voters. It looks like the voter turnout
for this primary was 14.4%.
Conservatives in
Georgia are not satisfied with the “Establishment” model in Georgia, but the
majority of Georgia GOP voters don’t mind and this is dangerous.
Conservatives
congratulated Ken Pullin HD 131 (Pike & Upson) on this election and Matt
Gurtler HD 8 (Union, Towns, Rayburn & White) for his 60% win and
re-election despite Ralston’s attempts to unseat him.
The conservative
candidates did put pressure on the establishment candidates, but this was
another limited issue, limited information election based on name recognition.
The “establishment” limited the issues to platitudes. They exclude the fact
that Georgia voters are powerless to defend their tax dollars from the whims of
the politicians. In Georgia, it’s government, of the government, by the
government and for the government.
