Matt Gurtler GA House Rep

I applaud Georgia Republicans when they produce a surplus and pay down debt, but I criticize them for assuming unnecessary powers and refuse to limit their footprint. Their involvement in everything usurps responsibilities that are best handled by the Private Sector and Georgia families with no government abuse, meddling or profiteering.

The Georgia “deep state” is real.  It is government by the government, of the government and for the government. Most of the bills they pass are written to give cities and counties unlimited power with no voter input. They have no sense of priorities or limits and support unnecessary spending and bureaucracy. This is a top-down legislature that encourages group-think and the outcomes that their laws and regulations produce are unhelpful.

City and County Charters imposed by the legislature allows limitless borrowing power to City Councils and County Commissions with no voter input on debt limits.  Their Education Bills perpetuate reckless spending and poor outcomes by Public School Systems. Their over-use of Bond sales double the cost of everything they do. The continual failure to provide competent infrastructure improvements is always overshadowed by campaigns for more boondoggles. The legislatures’ refusal to acknowledge UN Agenda 21 implementation is treasonous.

Most of the tax revenue in Georgia goes to healthcare and education and both are overpriced and underperforming. Government needs to get out of these industries before they are totally destroyed. The rest goes to special interest groups that include growing the government bureaucracy and supporting divisive big company liberal “values” imposed by the UN and designed to usurp voter sovereignty.

Most of the revenue in Georgia should go to critical infrastructure like roads, highways, bridges, sewer systems, water distribution systems and reservoirs. Public transit should be priced to eliminate all tax subsidies or should be privatized. Bond sales and SPLOSTS should be replaced by “accrual accounts” to fund critical infrastructure.  Bike lanes, green space, roundabouts, parks, “art” projects and multi-use trails should be funded by cities and counties with no federal or State subsidies, because these are not critical. Economic development for boondoggles should be left to cities and should require voter approval.

Matt was elected to as the Representative for the House District 8 in 2016 and represents Union, Towns, Rabun & White counties. These counties are at the far Northeast corner of Georgia He is a homebuilder from Tiger Georgia.

Matt needs to be re-elected to the House. Candidates with his vision need to replace the current crop of legislators and State officials. Conservative Republicans represent 45% of all Georgia Republican delegates. It shouldn’t be hard to add more conservatives to the Georgia legislature.
