Top EU oil importers
include Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, UK and Belgium. Most other
EU member countries are also oil importers.
Trump is challenging
the EU with his questions about NATO funding and Russian oil. When EU countries
talk about NATO, they are viewing Russia as a potential enemy. When EU countries talk about oil, they
consider Russia a trading partner.
Trump is asking them
to choose. The US is close to becoming a net exporter of oil and is already
exporting natural gas. The US is a buttress to price gouging by Russia.
When the EU policy
makes no sense, Trump questions it. So far, Trump has rejected climate change,
open borders and the Muslim invasion. He is moving their cheese.
