Argentina Economy


Argentina has a population of 44,688,864 with a land mass of 1.074 million square miles.

Nominal GDO is $639.224 billion. GDP growth is 1.7%. Nominal per capita GDP is $14,342.  Inflation is 29.5%, Poverty is 28.6%. Labor force is 17.9 million. Unemployment is 9.6%.

GDP by sector includes agriculture, forestry and fishing 6%, mining 3.6%, manufacturing 17.2%, construction 5.6%, commerce and tourism 16.9%, transport, communications and utilities 7.9%, government 9.5%, business and services 33.3%.

Labor force by sector is agriculture 7.3%, manufacturing 13.1%, construction 7.6%, commerce and tourism 21.3%, transport, communications and utilities 7.8%, financial, real estate and business services 9.4%, public administration and defense 6.4%, social services and other 27.1%.

Main industries include food processing, beverages, motor vehicles and auto parts, appliances and electronics, machinery and equipment, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, glass, steel and aluminum, cement, textiles, tobacco, publishing, furniture and leather.

Exports are $56.76 billion including soybeans, corn, wheat petroleum, gas and vehicles sold to Brazil 17%, China 8.6% and US 5.9%.

Imports are $57.18 billion including machinery, motor vehicles, petroleum, gas, organic chemicals and plastics from Brazil 22.4%, US 16.3%, China 15.5% and Germany 5.1%

Government debt is $222.7 billion or 68% of GDP. Government revenue is $142.9 billion, Spending is $167.3 billion. External debt is $163.2 billion. Reserves are $61.61 billion.
