Mexican Economy


Population is 131 million. Land area is 758,400 square miles. GDP is $1.15 trillion. GDP growth is 2.3%, Per capita GDP is 9,304 per year. GDP by sector is agriculture 3.6%, industry 38.6% and services 59.8%. Labor force is 53 million. Unemployment 3.3%, Inflation 5%, Poverty 42%. Labor force by sector agriculture 13.4%, industry 24.1%, services 61.9%.

Main industries are food, beverages, tobacco aerospace, chemicals, iron, steel, petroleum, mining, textiles, clothing, motor vehicles, consumer durables and tourism. Ease of doing business 49th.

Exports were $406.5 billion including automobiles, electronics, televisions computers, mobile phones, LCDs, oil and petroleum products, silver, fruit vegetables, coffee and cotton sold to the US 80.3%, Canada 2.7%, China 1.5%, Spain 1.5% and Brazil 1.2%.

Imports were $417.3 billion including metal working machines, steel mill products, agricultural machinery, metals, repair parts for motor vehicles, aircraft, aircraft parts and oil production equipment from the US 49%, china 16.6%, Japan 4.4%, Germany 3.4% and South Korea 3.4%.

Government debt is $612 billion, 53.5% of GDP. Revenue was $400 billion, Spending was unavailable. Foreign reserves were $180 billion.
