Ancient American Migration

Like other ancient migrations, the entry of migrants on to the American continent likely began around 40,000 BC. The Ice Age provided land and ice bridges to allow migrants to migrate through Asia and enter the American continent.

By the end of the Ice Age in 11,700 settlements can be seen from the Artic to South America. Eskimo tribes remained in the North and developed their strategies accordingly. American Indians settled in what is now the US and others moved into Central and South America.
