US Workforce Skills

The US needs Electronics, Mechanical and Software Engineers and CAD Operators it hasn’t needed for 20 years and we will need to get them with H1b visas.  The US has a glut of welfare migrants and needs to cut off immigration of low skilled migrants.

The US also needs legal applicants for high-skilled technical work like Advance Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technicians to install and maintain production equipment. The US already has enough citizens to fill most operator jobs, but it will require up to 1 year to have them trained.

The US was busy off-shoring its manufacturing and shutting down energy production from 1993 to 2017. The Engineers that produced the PC, Smartphones, Electronics upgrades and Manufacturing Process improvements in the 1980s had completed their design cycles in the 1990s. From the 1990s to 2016, the US had lost its Engineering jobs and the capability to do meaningful product development.

The US failure to adjust its corporate tax structure from 35% to 21% (average) created incentives for companies to off-shore its manufacturing to lower its costs.  Manufacturing Process improvements allowed US companies to move off-shore, because the processes were under control.

Globalist propaganda began in the 1980s to build up to the unveiling of UN Agenda 21 in 1992.  All countries and corporations signed on to this scam.

The hype to rely on the Global Economy was reinforced by the Globalists with crony trade deals and open borders that further eroded national sovereignty.

In 2015, Global growth showed signs of ending. The realization that Globalist scams like global warming were beginning to take hold and reduced Globalist influence.

In 2016, Trump attacked all the scams, exposed the facts and was elected. In 2017, Trump lowered the US corporate tax from 35% to 21%, cancelled unnecessary regulations and began to lower illegal immigration. In 2019, Trump added Tariffs on foreign imports to achieve reciprocal trade and lower the US trade deficit.

Now in 2020, we need to address our lack of Engineers to support the return of manufacturing to the US.  Because we haven’t had Engineering openings for 20 years, we don’t have enough US Engineers. We will need to add H1b Engineers to continue to return manufacturing back to the US. Electronics Engineering grads fell from 21,459 in 2005 to 16,184 in 2009 and continued to decline.

We need to finish the border wall, pass immigration laws based on need and merit and cancel welfare migrant immigration schemes. US-based companies need to increase the manufacture of necessary goods sold to US consumers.

The US Education System needs reform to ensure that high school grads can read, write and do math. They need to be able to prepare their own tax forms, read and understand instructions, contracts, budgets, laws,

US colleges need to stop offering easy courses that produce degrees for jobs that do not exist and reduce non-occupational college courses.

The Music courses should be offered by a Music College. The Education courses should be offered by a Teacher’s College. The Art courses should be offered by an Arts College. Admission should be based on actual talent.

Most of the other courses below should be self-taught by looking up information on Google. Degrees in these majors are not in high demand.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has taken a whack at their crystal ball to make up what jobs will be in highest demand over the next decade. They expect us hire 2 million more healthcare workers with over half in home care.  They also expect us to hire 1.2 million more restaurant workers. They are not projecting the 7 million more manufacturing jobs we need to restore the middle class, so I don’t expect to see any changes in our education curriculum.
