Covid19 US Jobs Hit


If the “social distancing” is not relaxed on April 1, 2020, unemployment will spike. The 15-day closure of businesses affects restaurants, bars, hotels, airlines, stadiums, tourist venues and business trips.

The following low wage jobs are at risk.
12 million restaurant jobs, except take-out and fast food.
16 million retail jobs could be reduced by 50%
5 million hotel jobs could be reduced by 50%
2.5 million entertainment jobs could be reduced by 50%

The temporary closure of restaurants, bars, gyms, stadiums and other venues will affect millions of main-street jobs. Hotel occupancy is at 10%. Airline travel is down due to travel bans, work from home and low vacation travel.
